Planning an Android app for sensitive data
An Android app that handles private information needs a clear data map before screens are designed. List what the app collects, where it stores that data, who can access it, and how long it should remain available. Those decisions affect sign-in, offline behavior, notifications, and support.
Test the app on the devices your audience actually uses, including slower phones and unreliable networks. Check what happens when a session expires or a request fails. A polished happy path is only part of the job.
If the app operates in a regulated setting, involve the organization’s legal and security reviewers in the requirements. A framework or library cannot make a product compliant on its own.
