Content approvals that editors can follow
Start by asking who writes, reviews, and publishes each kind of page. A news update may need one editor. A policy page may need legal review. Giving every item the same approval path slows down routine work.
Keep the status visible: draft, in review, approved, and published. Make it clear who has the next action and what changed since the last review. Preview should show the page as a visitor will see it, not just a list of fields.
Before choosing a CMS, walk an editor through a real change. If a simple correction requires a developer or a chain of messages outside the system, the workflow needs another pass.
